PRECIOSA Crystal Challenge
Since 2012, PRECIOSA in cooperation with the Technical University of Liberec has held a project competition for students of all TUL faculties. Its theme is very simple – Glass in a Different Way.
Within the competition, teams of students come up with glass products, they work on their design, technical feasibility, economic analysis and create a marketing plan for their launch. Therefore, an ideal team may include a student of design, economics and a technical student.
PRECIOSA organizes three meeting days throughout the competition, when the student teams may consult their ideas with professionals across all PRECIOSA Group companies. The students have the opportunity to visit the PRECIOSA Lighting premises and there is also an outdoor day in Harrachov. The final presentation of student projects is before a professional committee consisting of representatives of PRECIOSA top management, the Technical University of Liberec and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic.
Although the PRECIOSA Crystal Challenge project is demanding for students in terms of time and content, their feedback is more than positive. Preciosa starts cooperating with a number of them afterwards, in the form of internships, trainee programmes, agreements to complete a job and employment.
